Conservation

The conservation movement is mostly concerned with setting aside land in order to protect local flora and fauna for preservation in the future. Some feel that conservation and environmentalism are closely linked, while others feel that conservationists only wish to save habitat now in order to ensure future natural resources for human consumption.

Regardless of motivation, conservationists have been responsible for setting aside large portions of land for wilderness, and for creating many pro-environment programs. One of the largest groups of conservationists is hunters, who value the environment in its natural state for game and the enjoyment of the outdoors.
