Meet Steve Parish in Person this November
Join award-winning photographer Steve Parish at a charity gala event for the Wildlife Preservation Society on Friday 26 November 2010 as he presents a visual showcase of five decades of photographic change in Australia.
This year, 2010, marks Steve Parish’s 50th year photographing Australia. His journey began when he photographed fish and marine life at the age of fifteen. He later worked as a wildlife photographer for the Queensland National Parks and Wildlife Service, developing an enduring fascination with fauna. Over half a century, Steve has travelled Australia extensively, chronicling the nation’s fascinating plants, animals, landscapes, culture, people, cities, and wild places.
His photographic journeys have left him with a library of more than 600,000 evocative images — an enduring record of half a century of the nation’s history. Witnessing, over the years, the decline of wildlife living spaces and species has furnished Steve with a desire to help native wildlife and lend his time and voice to help encourage others to join the cause for wildlife conservation.
Tickets cost $35 and the proceeds of this event will assist the Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland’s wildlife conservation campaigns and projects. Book online at www.wildlife.org.au or contact the WPSQ on email@example.com or (07) 3221 0194.
