Micro Hydro

Micro hydroelectricity comes from small pools of water using a wheel to generate up to 100 KW of electricity. This type of hydroelectricity is often used in remote areas or small villages where the need for electricity is small.

Often times the damn will simply be at the bottom of a waterfall and pipes will lead down to a wheel which connects to a pump house which creates electricity. Often times this type of power is used as a complement to solar power in small communities.
