Pollinator Decline

Pollinator Decline

Pollinator Decline, In the last 50 years the world has seen a 90% decline in honey bee population, which has a huge impact of pollination of flowers. In order to bear fruit or vegetables many plants rely on bees for pollination, which cannot occur if there are not enough bees.

Many monoculture crops rely heavily on large numbers of bees to fertilize flowers during blooming season. Many believe that honey bees can be replaced with other types of bees, but the fact is that biodiversity in the bee population is the key, because many types of plants produce flowers only suited to one type of bee.
