Renewable Energy

Renewable energy is energy that is generated from sources that are infinite and always regenerating, such as solar, wave, hydroelectric, wind, and geothermal power. In contrast, power coming from petroleum products (which makes up the majority of fuel) comes from a finite source which will sooner or later dry up.

In 2006 18% of energy came from renewable resources, but it is estimated that that number will climb strongly with each year as more people demand energy from clean and renewable resources. For example, wind power is growing at a rate of 30% per year worldwide. High oil prices and political issues are more reasons why people are demanding clean and renewable energy.
