Wind Power

Wind energy is harnessed by using the kinetic motion wind creates in large wind turbines. Overall wind power only accounts for 1% of the worlds power production, but it makes up 19% of power created in Spain, Denmark, Ireland, and Germany.

Wind power is a clean and renewable source of energy that can lower greenhouse gas emission when it replaces petroleum based energy. Large fields of wind turbines make up the main power sources, though lone turbines can provide a small amount of power for a house or field. Because wind is intermittent power supply issues can arise, but rarely do because there are other forms of energy to back up wind power in most places.
